Toronto b5 Christmas Party
December 7, 2007
Here are a few highlights from the night- We went to Second City, which is a comedy club downtown for a show called “Facebook of Revelations”. I called in advance to make sure we could take Ed, and they said it was ok. However, when we walked in with Ed in an evening gown, the woman taking tickets said “Your mannequin is not coming in.” I told her we had a ticket for him (true) and she kept arguing with me over it…and asked “Why does the mannequin NEED to be in there?” Duh, he’s part of the team. Why would anyone argue with someone carrying a male mannequin wearing drag??? Jeremy opened his fake Humane Society cat present (which he has already seen earlier in the day). And he did a pretty good job pretending not to be ticked off. At intermission we gave him his real present, which was a toy helicopter (with remote control) and $75 in gift certificates for Best Buy…hopefully so he buys a DVD player for his wife, who has to come to the office to watch movies because Jeremy brought his X-box here. The show was pretty funny, they make fun of bloggers…we all laughed our butts off. Ed drank an apple martini (his favorite). When the show was over, we walked over to Grace O’Malley’s, and Irish pub down the street that had a maritime cover band playing, and there a bunch of people from out East there…all of whom Chad knew of course (he knows everyone). Jager bombs were on sale, so natuarally, we overdid it. From what I remember, this happened: - Chad did his stupid magic tricks, and we all pretended we cared - Ed’s legs fell on the floor - We danced our butts off - Some blonde chick tried to steal Ed, and she just about got a knuckle sandwich from me - Jeremy and Shannon left early - Laura won the contest for most drunk (she’s after everything I have) - Jason wiped out when he got home - Melissa wiped out when she got home - I drunk dialed an ex when I got home - None of us made it to work on time (and Salim didn’t come in at all, though he didn’t make it to the party) That about sums it up. We all had a good time, and missed all the Aussies and Americans (well, except Aaron)…if there was a way to Skype you all in, we would have!
